You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing
Los Campesinos, a band. They visited Threadless once. There were videos. (The titles of most of posts are the titles of songs, good twin. The band's name is usually in the first paragraph.)
Oh my goodness, it's crunch time. Two lab practicals (Botany and Chem 2), two science tests (Botany and Chem 2), a 7 page film essay. All happening this week, I'm going to explode. After my finals, I'm going down to Austin for a few days to hangout.
It's been a long while since my last frenetic posts. So, the diamond mine thing did not pan out that weekend, but we went the weekend after. Spent a good 5 hours digging and sifting dirt in the giant dirt field that was the "mine". The hole ended up being 5 feet deep, and maybe 5 feet wide. I forgot my camera, so no pictures. All we ended up finding was some jaspar and volcanic rocks.
On the way there, we saw a bunch of tanks! They were on back of some cars, and missing the cannon barrels, but still tanks. I do have pictures of that.

We also saw a sign that said "Warning, God is approaching." It was hilarious.
We ate at a buffet that day. It was great, since I had not eaten anything for the last day and a half asides from ramen. There was sushi, frog legs, etc. I had 3 plates full, maybe more.
School has been going marvelously for once, getting A's on recent tests in Chem 2 and Botany. Which is good, as I need them. Film and French? I'm flailing a little, but managing B's hopefully. I can do better I hope.
This past weekend, went up northwest to Fayetteville, AR. Met the parents of two of my friends, Matt and Casie. Casie had a house that was like Joseph de Jesus's, and Matt had a sprawling Wesley sized house. He even had a guest house! Though he had no neighbors. Really nice parents.
One of the parents, as we were walking in (note: that it was very dark), said "...I made some funky Asian food..." As I walk into the house, I hear Casie say "Oh! He's Thai!" Her mom, very enthused, had me try her own Thai cooking, a soup and a Thai beef salad. The soup was like a more flavorful version of what I get at home (it had ginger, mushrooms, shrimp, some basil, maybe a bit of coconut milk, pepper(?)). The salad was like a salad. Eh. So while I was eating, she ask me where I come from, and I respond "Calfornia."
She says, "You're not a real Thai then!" Hopefully you guys can imagine my reaction, as I find it hard to describe. She later explained, that as a nurse, she has many patients, and the Asian patients she gets are never raised as in the culture, which really is quite understandable, being in Arkansas.
We went out afterward, us and some of Casie's friends, down some long winding country roads, and to the town square. Later on at the Main Street, which has so much hustle and bustle it reminded me of L.A., we went into a hookah bar. I didn't try any, neither did Matt and Tate, and I don't really plan on doing anything involving purposefully inhaling smoke. Played some pool while we were there, and it was nice having a not shifty table.
We went out for pizza after the hookah bar, at a place called "Mordour's". It was pretty good pizza. Went back to school after. Then went out to a friend's lake house for the rest of the weekend (Saturday night to Sunday evening). It was nice,
beautiful. It was nice just chilling with some friends.
I also got a bunch of Threadless shirts. My first ones! That I bought myself!
