i had such a fun weekend, i didn't finish all my homework! (yes thats how you can tell it was so awesome haha)
FRIDAY: Campus was deserted! haha everyone went to the Dodgers game. I stayed in. Friday night I went to fellowship with the garden church people and it was fun! There was worship time, and game time. We played Electricity, where 2 teams both sit in a line and hold hands, and the people at one end have to watch the coin toss. if its heads, they can squeeze the next persons hand, and it goes all the way down the line! My team lost but it was a close game. Afterwards, they had snacks and socializing. The snacks = cereal. I thought that was so weird, but cool. I talked to a lot of people and some guys did some bboying on the floor.
SATURDAY: I woke up super early (6:30) to do Step Forward Day. Basically it's a school-wide volunteer day. You sign up to volunteer with a group (dorm, club, class) of your choice, but nobody knows WHERE they're volunteering until they get there. I went with PASA (asian club) since a lot of the garden people are involved with PASA too. We went to the LA Food Bank! I was really glad - some groups had to pick up trash or weed a garden. I worked/hung out with a girl named Jennifer who is part Canto and part Shanghainese - she's a freshman too, and we got along really well. We were on the assembly line, putting cans of veggies in bags. I got kind of sore after 3 hours straight. When we got back to school, there was free In-N-Out! (oh i forgot to mention we got a free t-shirt too) I saw the Trio and said hi to them, but I ate with PASA. I was squatting, so later the Trio walked by and Eiichiro pushed me backwards (eliciting an Ashton-esque squawk from me). I chased Jihan because I thought he did it. - -' But when I found out it was Eiichiro I chased him down - good thing his foot isn't completely healed, because I was able to catch him and try to knock him down. I also threatened to break his foot. But um... I know it sounds violent, but it really was playful - -'
In the evening Jennifer and I were invited to the surprise bday party of someone in the fellowship! We went to someone's off-campus apartment for it. (They have rock band + wii! <3) One guy made shaved ice :D We played the craziest game of mafia EVER.
- You don't find out the identity of people who die, until the game is over/all mafia have been killed
- There are 2 teams of mafia as well as the civilians. The different mafia are trying to kill each other as well.
- Each mafia team has 2 people. One of the gets the actual mafia card. Then that person chooses a partner. That means the partner can have a cop/doctor/civilian card. It's possible to have a dirty cop or a dirty doctor.
I was super tired from Step Forward day, but I got mafia :( So I picked the guy who explained the game to be my partner, expecting him to do all the work. But he ended up killing himself to take the blame off him. At the end, civilians won but I was the last mafia (with like 5 other people? We started with like 15-18) and everyone was very impressed with how I played. x.x I was pretty good. I asked mafia to kill me because I was tired, offered to kill myself off, used the excuse that I didn't know anyone... and the dead people kept making all these surprised noises! gosh. Anyway I put up a pretty convincing act, so now everyone at the garden mentions it - I'M GOING TO BE REMEMBERED LIKE THAT FOREVERR! manipulative freshman D: But it was an intense game and I had fun - and learned more people's names :)
SUNDAY: Went to church at the garden. Service was pretty normal. Afterwards we all went out to this Korean supermarket with a Korean food court. SOOO DELISHHH. (chinese is better but who am i to complain?) Then I got jamba! because school smoothies SUCK. Did a litle bit of hw that night, then went to a Regents Scholar pool party in the faculty condos. It was awkwarddd. But hey, free pizza and ice cream sandwich. :D My roommates' bf was over from like 1-10 pm so it was a little awkward but... hey. again, who am i to complain haha. I know what it's like to miss a bf. And mine doesn't have a car :/

Last night Jennifer came over and we watched gossip girl/one tree hill. Cuh-raaazy episodes.
I'm going to write some letters today. :)
