Black Holes and Many-Asians.

I based my title after my favorite Muse album. So, apparently, I am one of very few Asians on campus, as has been apparent to me from day one, and has become all more so apparent when I walked into the Asian-American/Asian Student/Faculty get together. They were mostly exchange students, except for one girl I already knew. Nice people, mostly from China, and the moment they started talking in Chinese, it felt like back at home when everyone starts speaking in a dialect of Chinese, and I stand there thinking "I wonder what they are saying."

I meet with guys from Burma, Japan, Vietnam, and China. I also met an exchange teacher from China, who had me say all the Chinese I knew, and apparently I have pretty good pronunciation (Thanks, lady!). And like Mr. Tseng, everyone thought he was a student, I certainly did for a bit. He also had really good English. One of the people from China, was very glad I knew the Chinese food they brought for us was not real Chinese food.

The Japanese guy, whose name I sadly cannot remember, was surprised at how I could tell he was Japanese. He had a somewhat Japanese look, and think it was a combination of the glasses and his messenger bag. Also his clearly Japanese name.

I met the Thai exchange student! She can understand my Thai! Happiness! So we were talking for a bit and she was apparently very happy to be speaking with someone else in Thai.

Overall, it was fun, and I find that most of the exchange people were somewhat surprised by my un-white-washed-ness.

I got my Judo gi, which is really heavy. Also, the food here goes through my system in like 30-45 minutes. Within that time frame after eating, I will always use the restroom.

It's raining a lot. It's so weird.
